I must begin this page by honoring my wife of 50 years, Sharon. She has been an amazing supporter of me through all the events that have shaped our lives together. She has been especially supportive in these past 14 years of ministry and has seen how the Lord has taken me and strengthened me and led me to where we are today.
I grew up in a Christian home and Christian extended family and am grateful for the heritage I have. We have been involved in many kinds of ministries over the years, but I want to focus on the time since 2000. I was involved in a roll over auto accident in 2000. The lingering result of the accident was the memory loss. It came with many frustrations, anxieties, and depression. I was frustrated that I could no longer remember the words to songs I had sung many times. I could not remember Bible verses. Memories of family vacations and many other events were gone.
Circumstances, handicap, limitations were all part of what I was experiencing. What was the result? A BLESSING!!!
God brought into my life people who have given me new insight into the experience of being a Christian. God chose to use an accident to wipe out old thoughts and to get a new perspective on the RELATIONSHIP he wants to have with me. I am learning about what it means to truly ABIDE in Him. He has given me a new perspective on GRACE, and to understand WHO I AM in CHRIST.
One of the most remarkable things He has done is blessed me to write songs that convey this message. Until early 2011, I had never written a song. But as I was listening to songs, trying to find material that conveyed the message of Abiding and Grace, the Lord clearly said to me, "If you want a song, I will give you one." In a span of 15 minutes He gave me the lines, phrases, and thoughts that became my first song "Abide by His Side" there have since been 9 other songs.
The curious thing is that I need the words in front of me when I sing them, as I have trouble remembering. I made comment to a pastor friend that it felt unprofessional to have to have the words in front of me. He said, so what, it is your limitation, your handicap, it doesn't diminish the message God has given you to share. My CIRCUMSTANCE became a BLESSING.
This past year was a year of challenges medically but the end result has been a new understanding about our God being a God of Restoration!!! There are a few new songs, especially " Broken Ribs" hopefully I will be able to record the new songs this coming year and publish a new CD.
I look forward to sharing the blessing with many of you. If you are in need of pulpit supply for vacations, a special event, concert, evangelistic outreach, men's group speaker, I would be honored.

Blessings,
Larry
